Hometown News: Flood Warnings

Flood warnings remains in effect through this afternoon for much of Western New York. the region saw a record amount of rainfall on Saturday. Nearly an inch-and-a-half of rain came down. Scattered showers are expected to taper off this afternoon. A Flood Warning is in effect for Ellicott Creek through this evening. A Flood Warning is in effect for Tonawanda Creek through Tuesday. And a Flood Warning in effect for the Allegheny River through this evening.

HTN: Hit-and-Run Driver Injures Two

Amherst police continue searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured two college students over the weekend. Authorities say 22-year-old Amy Stewart and 21-year-old Rachel Baird were hit while crossing Main Street near Campus Drive early Saturday morning. Stewart is in critical condition with head trauma while Baird is in fair condition with chest and abdomen injuries. Authorities are searching for a dark colored SUV with possible front end damage. Anyone with information is urged to call Amherst police.

HTN: Fugitive Couple Held

A couple from Scranton, PA has been arrested here in connection with the death of the woman's 3-year-old daughter. Buffalo police arrested 26-year-old Darak Antonio Williams, and his 25-year-old girlfriend, Kashema Reddish, Sunday night after some local church members who were helping the two saw them on "America's Most Wanted." Williams and Reddish were reported as fugitives following the February death of young Kavannah Salvador. An autopsy determined that her death was a homicide. The couple was questioned, but allegedly fled after being released.

HTN: Funeral Held for UB Student

A funeral will be held this morning in Greenburgh, NY for the 19-year-old college freshman who died last week at the State University of Buffalo. Jonah Dreskin was found lying on a campus service road late Wednesday and appeared to have been hit by a car or fallen from a residence hall. His exact cause of death has not been revealed. Police officials at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo say the investigation is ongoing.

Hometown Sports: TO Signs with B-LO

The Bills signed wide receiver Terrell Owens on Saturday, after the Dallas Cowboys released him last week. Owens has inked a one year deal worth six-and-a-half million dollars. Owens has been widely criticized during his career for causing distractions in the locker room, publicly criticizing players and coaches and drawing attention to himself with flashy antics. However, Owens has the stats to back it up, having gained more than one-thousand yards receiving in nine of the last 11 seasons.
