Hometown News: Two Young Girls Hurt on ATV
Two girls, ages eight and four, are recovering from injuries suffered in an ATV accident in Chautauqua County. Police in Forestville say the older girl was driving the vehicle with the younger girl on the back. As the four-year-old was getting off, the throttle was hit sending the ATV into a tree. The four-year-old was flown to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo with a leg injury. The eight-year-old suffered an arm injury and was taken to Lakeshore Hospital. Their names and conditions have not been released. Both girls were wearing helmets. The Sheriff's Department will confer with the Chautauqua County District Attorney's office to determine whether charges will be filed against the adults who allowed the girls to operate the ATV.

HTN: Alleged Cockfight Ring in Chautauqua County
Chautauqua County Sheriff's investigators have broken up a cockfight training ring after a month-long investigation. Deputies raided a house in Dunkirk Wednesday morning, wher more than 100 roosters were found in a basement and a backyard barn. Deputies arrested 74-year-old Concepcion Virella, who faces felony charges. Deputies think more people may be involved in the ring, saying some owners could live in Buffalo. Some of the roosters are reportedly worth between two and three-thousand dollars. The animals were humanely euthanized and an investigation continues.

Fugitive Found in Chautauqua County
Chautauqua County Sheriff Jospeh Gerace personally apprehended 19-year-old Daniel Hyers of the Town of Villenova. Authorities believe he shot and killed his stepfather. A man was spotted fitting the description Hyers' description walking along Butcher Road early Wednesday. Gerace arrested him without incident just after 10am. Hyers is expected to be arraigned today on murder charges.

Fatal Accident in Chautauqua County
A Forestville man was killed in a one-car accident early this morning in Chautauqua County. Investigators say that 26-year-old Wilfredo Montanez Junior was traveling down South Roberts Road in the Town of Sheridan when he lost control of his vehicle, went off road and hit a utility pole.
