Renaming the Stadium?

After Jimmy Griffin passed away, suggestions arose that Buffalo's downtown ballpark be renamed in honor of Hizzoner. Dunn Tire's Pat Logue appeared with Donahue & Moore this morning, to explain that the name was due to change anyways, because his company is not renewing its contract.

Griffin's Final Rest

Lackawanna Police issued a traffic advisory for this afternoon around Our Lady of Victory Basilica. Funeral services for former Buffalo Mayor James Griffin started at 1:30 p.m. OLV's Pastor, Monsignor Paul Burkhardt, says the Basilica is the right place for the service. The 78-year-old former Mayor died last Sunday. The services are open to the public.

Griffin's Wake and Funeral

Long lines are expected again today at Reddington Funeral Home for the second day of Jimmy Griffin's wake. Yesterday, politicians stood beside average Joe's who came to remember the controversial leader. Lackawanna Police have issued a traffic advisory for the area around OLV Basilica for tomorrow's funeral, with an expectation of delays, detours and closed streets.

Griffin Funeral Arrangements Set

Funeral arrangements are underway for James Griffin, who passed away early Sunday morning. Calling hours are today and tomorrow from 2 until 8 at the Reddington Funeral Home on Abbott Road. The funeral, which is open to the public, is set for Thursday at 1:30 at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna.
