The Buffalo Sabres have two new minority owners who are well acquainted with the team. Managing Partner Larry Quinn and Chief Operating Officer Dan DiPofi were granted minority stakes by owner Tom Golisano. Golisano says it is all part of the original deal back in 2003 when he bought the team.

Bills Announce NFL Stadium Policy

The Bills announced their official stadium behavior policy today, heading into the season opener against Seattle this Sunday. Chief Operating Officer Russ Brandon says most of it is common sense. The 2008 NFL season kicks off tonight in New Jersey. The Super Bowl champion Giants will host the NFC East rival Redskins at Giants Stadium.

Domestic Dispute on Grand Island

When Erie County deputies arrived at the Wakefield home on Staley Road in Grand Island they found the husband standing next to his smashed in car. While they were talking, his wife, 39-year-old Ann Wakefield, returned to the scene in her vehicle. She failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level over double the legal limit. She's been charged with criminal mischief for running into her husband's car and with DWI.

Muulti-Vehicle Accident on Route 5

A section of Route 5 in the Town of Hamburg was closed after a multi-vehicle accident this morning. The crash happened in the 6 a-m hour near Hamburg Town Beach, involving at least five vehicles. Mercy Flight airlifted some victims to Buffalo hospitals.

Washington Street Tunnel Collapse

A tunnel running from the old AM&A's Building downtown, under Washington Street to an adjacent warehouse is collapsing, and that means Washington Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Engineers were called to the scene on Washington between East Eagle and Clinton when passersby noticed a hole in the asphalt. The street remains blocked off while officials check the roof of the old tunnel to determine its condition.

Rape Reported on UB South Campus

U-B Campus Police are warning students to be alert and aware after a rape was reported. A female freshman was walking alone, wearing headphones, on the South Campus Sunday morning when she was pulled into bushes. Authorities are reminding students to walk in groups, and use shuttles or escorts. Last week a freshman was groped on the Buffalo State College Campus.
