Members of the Buffalo Common Council rode their bikes to work today as part of a Green Friday in the city. They met at Lafayette Square and then rode as a group down Court Street to City Hall.

Hearing Into Kincannon's Second Suspension

A hearing was held yesterday regarding the second suspension given this year to McKinley High senior Jayvonna Kincannon. She suspended again last week after allegedly pushing a teacher at a charity basketball game. Kincannon's attorney is filing papers to sue the school district over the first suspension fou using a cell phone in school.

Propane Blast Behind Arena

An propane explosion behind HSBC Arena this morning. Tanks inside a rental truck exploded, injuring three occupants. The injured were taken to ECMC with minor burns and scrapes.

Renaming the Stadium?

After Jimmy Griffin passed away, suggestions arose that Buffalo's downtown ballpark be renamed in honor of Hizzoner. Dunn Tire's Pat Logue appeared with Donahue & Moore this morning, to explain that the name was due to change anyways, because his company is not renewing its contract.

Conviction in Hamlin Park Murder

Lawrence "New York" Guinyard convicted in the 2007 murder of a Hamlin Park woman, Mary McAllister. Prosecutors are seeking the maximum 25 year to life. The victim's daughter, Brenda Taylor, says she will try to move on. Guinyard's attorney said the conviction will be appealed.

Arrest in Shooting of Wheelchair-Bound Man

A Buffalo man has pled not guilty in City Court on charges of shooting wheelchair-bound Jamal Watts on Sunday. Twenty-one-year-old Ronnie Austin is facing attempted murder charges. Austin's brother Jarmel is currently serving 25-years in prison for shooting the same man five years ago. That shooting left Watts paralyzed. Watts is currently undergoing treatment at Erie County Medical Center.
