Ex-Purple Eagle Arrested in Akron

Former Niagara University men's basketball player Rydell Brooks was arrested after a police chase in Akron, Ohio. Investigators say that Brooks and another man fired at officers during a foot chase. Brooks played for Niagara in 2006, when the won its conference championship and went to the NCAA Tournament. Following that, Brooks transferred to Akron to be closer to family members.
