Van Found, but Mother Still Missing

The vehicle belonging to a missing Jamestown-area woman has been found, but there's still no sign of her. 36-year-old Corrie Anderson has not been seen since she failed to pick up her child on Tuesday. Chautauqua County DA David Foley says that he does not think the woman would abandon her three children.

Jamestown Woman Missing

State Police are investigating the disappearance of a 36-year-old woman near Jamestown. Corrie Anderson of Asheville was last seen Tuesday afternoon at a car dealership in Jamestown. Police say she missed several appointments after that and failed to pick up her son from school.

jamestown Death Now Ruled a Murder

Jamestown police say the suspicious death of a woman is now being investigated as a murder. Authorities identified the body as 24-year-old Dana Cowart. She was found in a burned-out building on East Fifth Street.

Local Soldier Dies in iraq

The Department of Defense has announced the death of a soldier in Baghdad. Private First Class Patrick May, 22 years old, of Jamestown, N.Y., died Sept. 2 in Baghdad, Iraq, in a non-combat related incident. He had been part of the Division Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), out of Fort Drum, N.Y. The incident is under investigation.

Jamestown Father and Son Charged

A 68-year-old disabled woman was dropped off Tuesday in front of the Jamestown Police Department, and now her husband and son are facing charges. The son, 45-year-old Edward Timblin, had thrown her out of the house and her husband, 70-year-old Howard Timblin, drove her to the Station. They are both charged with endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person, and were both were held in jail while the woman was evaluated, then taken home. Authorities are trying to find a safe place for her to stay.

Jamestown Boy Injured in Wild Ride

A five year old boy in Jamestown survived a wild parking lot ride in his grandma's pickup. Police say the boy somehow managed to rotate the ignition, start the car without a key, and hit the gas. He sideswiped a parked car twice, crossed a street, hit a fence, and ended up down a 12-foot embankment. The boy suffered an arm injury, but no one else was hurt.
