HTN: Mistaken Prisoner Release

Authorities say a prisoner was mistakenly freed from the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden last month, and went on to rape a woman in Buffalo. Sheriff Tim Howard said 26-year-old Rasheed Milton was let out of jail on a paperwork mix up on February 27th. Milton was arrested again last Thursday on the rape charge. Corrections officials say a jail clerk failed to enter a federal detainment order into a computer, so Milton was freed on time served on another charge. That clerk could be fired.
