State AG Subpoenas Schools
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is stepping up his investigation into a practice by upstate school districts that could be costing taxpayers untold dollars. Cuomo's office will send out 70-subpoenas to schools in 17-counties who have placed independent contractors, mainly lawyers, on their payrolls so the contractors can receive benefits, including pensions.
